Davis Throws Complete-Game Four-Hitter in Final Game of Weekend Series

ADA, OKLA. — Senior pitcher Trevor Davis (RHP, Evergreen, CO/Evergreen HS) threw a complete-game four-hitter and struck out three batters, while allowing no walks, to lead Eastern New Mexico University to a 3-0 victory in the second game of a Lone Star Conference crossover double-header, Saturday, Feb. 26 at East Central University. The Greyhounds lost the first game of the twinbill, 16-7, as ECU overcame a 4-2 deficit with five runs in the third and sixth innings.

ENMU and East Central split the four-game series. Eastern concluded the weekend at 6-6 on the season, while the Tigers ended the series with a 7-7 mark. Crossover games do not count in the LSC divisional standings.

In Eastern's win on Saturday, third baseman Brett Scherer (Sr., Ingram, TX/Midland College) went 2 for 4 with a double and a run scored. The Hounds broke a 0-0 tie when Scherer scored in the sixth inning, then added two insurance runs in the seventh.
