Texas A&M-Kingsville Holds Off Greyhounds,
Pulls Away in Final Three Minutes, 82-73
Hunnicutt Scores 19 to Finish in 11th Place at ENMU with 1,311 Career Points

PORTALES , N.M. — Texas A&M University-Kingsville led 38-27 late in the first half, then held off Eastern New Mexico University the rest of the way, as the Javelinas defeated the Greyhounds, 82-73, in a Lone Star Conference game, Saturday, Feb. 26 at Greyhound Arena. The Hounds trailed by just four points, 74-70, with 2:32 remaining, but TAMUK closed out the game with an 8-3 run. The Javelinas improved to 17-10 overall, 8-4 in the LSC South, while ENMU concluded the season at 9-18, 2-10 in the LSC South.

The Greyhounds were led by senior forward Jamaal Hunnicutt (Amarillo, TX/Hill JC), who ended the game with 19 points, eight rebounds, two assists and four steals. He finished his outstanding career ranked 11th on Eastern's all-time scoring list with 1,311points, just five points behind Jerry Hyder (1967-71) in 10th place. Reggie Wallace (Jr., G, Pasadena, CA/Mt. San Antonio College) added 18 points, three assists and two steals for the Hounds, while Irshaun Pinckney (Sr., G, Clovis, NM/Clovis HS) contributed 15 points and six rebounds.
