ENMU versus NMHU Double-Header Rescheduled

PORTALES, N.M. — The softball double-header between Eastern New Mexico University and New Mexico Highlands University, originally slated for Mar. 22, has been rescheduled for Friday, Feb. 18. The first game of the double-header will begin at 12 p.m. MST at Zia Softball Field in Portales, N.M. It will be Eastern’s home opener for the 2005 season.

The remaining schedule for the weekend of Feb. 18-20 remains unchanged. On Saturday, Feb. 19 and Sunday, Feb. 20, Western New Mexico University will visit ENMU for a four-game series. The two double-headers will be played at Zia Softball Field, beginning at 12 p.m. MST both days.

Double-Header at Cameron is Canceled

Eastern New Mexico University’s softball double-header against Cameron University, set for Sunday, Feb. 13 in Lawton, Okla., has been canceled due to the weather. No makeup date has been determined. Although not yet officially canceled, the Zias’ double-header at Midwestern State University, scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 12, is likely to suffer a similar fate if weather forecasts prove to be correct.

Eastern recently completed five games at the Angelo State Classic in San Angelo, Texas. The Zias defeated Colorado State University-Pueblo for their only victory at the tournament. ENMU is currently 1-4 on the season.
