IRVING, TEXAS — The Zias of Eastern New Mexico University split their first two games at the Lone Star Conference First Pitch Tournament, winning the opener against Southwestern Oklahoma State University, 2-1, and losing the nightcap to Midwestern State University, 3-2, on Friday, Feb.25. The tournament will continue on Saturday, Feb. 26, with the Zias taking on Cameron University at 9 a.m. MST and facing the University of Central Oklahoma at 11 a.m. MST.

Rosemary Moreno (Jr., RHP, Midland, TX/Midland College) pitched a complete game one-hitter for the win against SW Oklahoma, and Amanda Nightingale (Jr., RHP, Mesquite, TX/North Central Texas College) pitched six scoreless innings in the second game, as the Zias completed the day with a 9-8 overall record. SWOSU fell to 4-5 following the loss to Eastern, while UCO was 8-6 after defeating the Zias.
