LAWTON, OKLA. — Senior pitcher Trevor Davis (Evergreen, CO/Evergreen HS) threw a three-hitter to overcome five errors by his teammates and lead Eastern New Mexico University to a 5-4 win over Cameron University, in the first game of a Lone Star Conference crossover double-header on Friday, Mar. 25. Cameron won the second game, 5-3, as the Aggies opened the scoring with three runs in the second inning, saw the Hounds pull within 3-2, then scored two times in the fifth. ENMU ended the day with a 12-16 record, while Cameron moved to 14-11, including 11-2 at home.

In the opener, Davis made the difference, as he limited the Aggies to three singles — one in the fourth inning and two in the fifth. He collected five strikeouts and did not allow a walk. His solid pitching was needed, as Eastern gave up three unearned runs during the game. Bryan Moore (Sr., 2B, Wolfforth, TX/Howard College) led Eastern's offense by going 3 for 4 with two runs, while Mark Wallace (Sr., 1B, Alamogordo, NM/Alamogordo HS) recorded two RBIs.

In the second game, both teams earned seven hits and made one error, but Cameron scored two more runs. Cody Brooks drove in two runs, Kacy Groves went 2 for 3 and scored once, and Trey Chambers was 1 for 3 with a run and an RBI. Eastern received two hits each from Josh Kuchta (Sr., SS, Clovis, NM/Clovis HS) and Brett Scherer (Sr., 3B/P, Ingram, TX/Midland College).
