Hounds Take Double-Header from Redmen, 11-7 and 6-5, to Split Four-Game LSC Crossover Series
ENMU Pounds Out 15 His in Opener, Adds 13 Hits in Second Game

PORTALES, N.M. — After losing both games of a double-header to Northeastern State University on Friday, Mar. 4, Eastern New Mexico University bounced back with a double-header sweep of its own on Saturday, Mar. 5, as the Greyhounds earned a split in the four-game Lone Star Conference crossover series with 11-7 and 6-5 wins at Greyhound Field. ENMU ended the series with an 8-8 record, while NSU fell to 9-10 on the season.

The Greyhounds, who lost 5-1 and 3-1 on Friday, rebounded with 15 hits in the opener on Saturday, then pounded out 13 hits in the second game. Justin Gee (Jr., RF, Clovis, NM/Clovis HS) and Bryan Moore (Sr., 2B, Wolfforth, TX/Howard College) each went 3 for 4 in the opener. Gee added two runs, one RBI and three stolen bases. Moore provided another 3-for-4 performance in the second game, while Gerald Juarez (Jr., LF, Carlsbad, NM/N.M. Military Institute) was 3 for 3 with a double.

David Swinconos (Jr., LHP, Lubbock, TX/Frenship HS) threw the first six innings in the first game to earn the win and improve to 1-0. Trevor Davis (Sr., RHP, Evergreen, CO/Evergreen HS) struck out seven batters and allowed no walks, while throwing a complete game for the Hounds. Davis upped his record to 4-1 on the season.
