Mini-Chopper to be Built in Fund-Raiser for Dan Buzard Cancer Fund

PORTALES, N.M. — In a fund-raising effort for the Dan Buzard Cancer Fund, the ENMU Athletic Department and Afterflash Customs will sponsor a drawing for a custom-built
mini-chopper. Ron Knowles and his crew at Afterflash Customs will build the mini-chopper, which will be painted in ENMU’s school colors, green and silver, by “Nub,” celebrity painter for the Discovery Channel program “American Chopper.”

The winner of the mini-chopper will be drawn on June 18, 2005, at the car show held in conjunction with Portales’ annual Heritage Days. The chopper will be driven in the Heritage Days Parade by “Nub,” who will be available at the car show for autographs.

Tickets are $10 each and will be available for purchase at a number of businesses in Clovis and Portales. Participating businesses are being sought at this time and will be announced in April. Starting in early May, the mini-chopper will be on display at various locations in Clovis and Portales. All proceeds will go to the Dan Buzard Cancer Fund.

The mini-chopper has an estimated value of $10,000. All costs for parts, assembly and painting have been donated by friends of Dan Buzard from his graduating class at Portales High School or have been supplied by local sponsors.
