LUBBOCK, TEXAS — The Eastern New Mexico University Zias from NCAA Division II were outplayed by NCAA Division I opponent Texas Tech University on Wednesday, Mar. 30, as the Red Raiders won both games of the double-header on the run-rule, 10-1 and 19-1. The Zias dropped to 14-19 for the season, while the Red Raiders improved to 20-11 overall.

ENMU pitcher Natasha Lindsey (Jr., RHP, Auburn , WA/Tusculum College) began the first game with a 3-2 record, but gave up a two-run homer to Jennifer Corkin in the first inning. Lindsey settled down in the second and third stanzas, giving up no runs and three hits during that stretch. The Red Raiders took control of the contest with eight runs in the bottom of the fourth inning, including five runs scored against Lindsey.

In the second game, Eastern took an early 1-0 lead when Tori Picazo (Jr., RF, McKinney, TX/Western Texas College) hit a two-out, solo home run in the top of the first inning. It was her fifth home run of the season. Texas Tech answered quickly, scoring five times in the bottom of the inning.

The Red Raiders continued their offensive success with six runs in the second inning and seven runs in the third, including a grand slam by Corkin. TTU scored the game's final run in the fourth inning.
