PORTALES, N.M. — The Eastern New Mexico University offense ran with the ball 73 times and gained 425 yards on the ground, as the Greyhounds defeated East Central University, 30-13, at Greyhound Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 17. The win was Eastern's second in a row and improved the Hounds to 2-2 on the season. East Central dropped to 1-3.

Sophomore quarterback Michael Benton (Everman, TX/Everman Joe C. Bean HS) rushed 21 times for 162 yards to lead the ENMU offense. Senior running back Jason Tezeno (Levelland, TX/Levelland HS) contributed 18 carries and 126 yards to the rushing attack. Lee Price (Jr., PK/P, Holliday, TX/Holliday HS) kicked three field goals (44, 52, 26), made all three extra points and averaged 42.6 yards on five punts.
