Greyhounds Take 1st, 2nd and 3rd in Javelin for Second Week in a Row
Gerleve Wins Event with Throw of 191'6"

Angelo State David Noble Relays - 2006 Results

SAN ANGELO, TEXAS — Eastern New Mexico University recorded a 1-2-3 sweep in the men's javelin for the second week in a row, as ENMU outhrew its competition at the 35th Annual David Noble Relays, hosted by Angelo State University on Thursday, April 13. Zach Gerleve (Jr., Truth or Consequences, NM/Hot Springs HS) won the event with a throw of 191'6". Logan Capps (Fr., Cloudcroft, NM/Cloudcroft HS) took second at 181'11" and Aaron Carper (So., Artesia, NM/Artesia HS) claimed third at 171'11".

ENMU also earned the top three places at the McMurry University Indian Relays in Abilene, Texas, on April 6. At McMurry, Gerleve achieved a provisional qualifying throw for the NCAA Division II National Meet with a throw of 196' 4".

At the David Noble Relays, the Greyhounds placed seventh in the team standings with 36 points (24 from the javelin). Angelo State won the men's division with 169 points, while South Plains College took second with 100 and McMurry was third with 58.5. ENMU will return to action on Friday, April 21 and Saturday, April 22 at the Lone Star Conference Track and Field Championships at Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas.
