Hannah Lynn Rhoten Joins ENMU Cross Country Team for 2006 Season
Freshman could have immediate impact for Zias

Portales, NM— Eastern New Mexico University cross country coach Joel McMullen has announced the signing of Hannah Lynn Rhoten (Albuquerque, Texas/St. Pius X HS) for the upcoming season.

"Besides being a fantastic student, Hannah is probably one of the most athletic young ladies I have ever met.  Although she does not have a history of running distance events, I wanted to make sure that we got her to ENMU because I believe in time she will make a big impact on our program,” said McMullen.  “She has a fiery competitiveness that you don't find every day.  Her work ethic and desire to win will be contagious and she will make a great addition to our harrier family."

Rhoten ran cross country all four years at St. Pius X, and also had a decorated career in track and field. She should be familiar with the ENMU athletic department, as her sister recently graduating after completing a successful four year career with the Zia softball team.”

"Her family is very supportive of ENMU and its programs,” added McMullen. “She was being recruited by some Division I schools in track, and I am just really excited that we were able to get her down here.  She will also make a huge impact on the track team as she is an outstanding jumper.  Diego Espinoza, my new graduate assistant, introduced me to Hannah and played a major role in landing this prized recruit, so my thanks go out to him."
