ENMU Ready for Green vs. Silver Spring Game
Greyhounds will Play at Leon Williams Stadium in Clovis

PORTALES, N.M. — The Eastern New Mexico University football team will play its annual Green vs. Silver Spring Game on Saturday, Mar. 25 at Leon Williams Stadium in Clovis, N.M. Game time is set for 2 p.m. MST. Admission is free and the game is open to the public.

In addition to watching the Green Team take on the Silver Team in a regulation football game, fans will have a chance to win a free trip courtesy of Big Valley. Registration for the drawing is free, with the lucky winner choosing Las Vegas, Orlando, San Francisco, San Diego or Reno as the destination for his or her trip. Airfare and accommodations for two people will be provided, with the trip lasting three days and two nights.

Rosters for the two teams will be provided, along with Eastern New Mexico University’s 2006 football schedule. A concession stand will be available for food and drinks during the game.

Key players on the Green Team included redshirt quarterback Jeremy Thompson, plus running back J.J. Jennings, inside linebackers Landon Morton and Jeremy Mullins, place-kicker/punter Lee Price and outside linebacker Tim Ojeda. Important linemen for the Green Team are defensive end Olie Fitts, defensive tackles Malala Tai, William Porter and Reginald Ellis, plus offensive guards Kevin Parker and offensive tackle Marcus Smith. Jeremy Thompson, who was a redshirt this past season, will start at quarterback for the Green Team.

Featured players on the Silver Team include starting quarterback Michael Benton, fullbacks Patrick Hemphill and Robert Garza, running back Fide Davalos, free safety J.J. Ortiz, defensive back Mark Patterson, inside linebacker Tony Johnson and outside linebackers Kenneth Odie and Brandon Harper. Key linemen for the Silver Team are defensive ends Rodrick Chambers and Kyle Wilson, defensive tackle Roger Deleon, offensive guard Landon Schumacher and offensive tackle Jeffrey Ashabranner.

The Green vs. Silver Spring Game concludes the spring practice season for Head Coach Mark Ribaudo and the Greyhounds. ENMU is scheduled to begin the 2006 season on Thursday, Sept. 7 at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Okla.
