EASTERN NEW MEXICO RANKED 14th IN NCAA DIVISION II FOOTBALL POLL
PORTALES, NM — The Eastern New Mexico University football team is ranked #14 in the NCAA Division II Coaches Poll released today (Oct. 4). Last week, ENMU was ranked #7, but the Greyhounds lost to Abilene Christian, 31-28, in ENMU’s Homecoming on Sat., Oct. 2. Eastern New Mexico is 4-1 overall and 2-1 in the Lone Star Conference.

Carson-Newman College (Tenn.) remained #1 with a 5-0 record and 79 points in the poll. Northern Colorado (5-0), Central Oklahoma (4-0), Slippery Rock (4-1), Nebraska- Omaha (5-0) and Tuskegee (4-0) stayed #2 through #6 respectively.

ENMU is ranked 3rd in the West Region. Central Oklahoma is ranked 1st in the Region, and Cal-Davis is ranked 2nd in the Region. UC-Davis is also ranked #8 in this week’s NCAA Division II Poll.

The NCAA Division II Poll will be released weekly for the remainder of the regular season. A total of 16 teams — four in each of four regions — will qualify for the NCAA Division II Playoffs, which begin on Sat., Nov. 20.
