PORTALES, N.M. — Head Coach Phil Clabaugh recorded his 400th career victory as Eastern New Mexico University defeated Southwestern Oklahoma State University, 7-3, in the first game of a Lone Star Conference crossover double-header, on Sunday, Mar. 20 at Greyhound Field. SWOSU won the second game, 6-5 in eight innings, to prevent Eastern from sweeping the four-game series. The Greyhounds defeated the Bulldogs, 3-1 and 10-0, on Saturday, Mar. 19.

The overall series win (three games to one) was the first for the Hounds this season. ENMU improved to 11-13 on the season, while SWOSU concluded the weekend with a 9-15 record.

Trevor Davis (Sr., RHP, Evergreen, CO/Evergreen HS) allowed just six hits and struck out six batters in the first game on Sunday, as he improved to 5-3 with a complete-game win. In the second game, Mark Wallace (Sr., 1B, Alamogordo, NM/Alamogordo HS) blasted a two-run homer to give ENMU a 5-4 lead in the fifth inning, but SWOSU's Levi Garrett hit a solo homer in the sixth, and the Bulldogs used three singles to score the winning run in the eighth.
