Kendall Clark Signs National Letter-of-Intent to Play for ENMU Men's Basketball Team
Kendall Clark, a 6’5”, forward from South Plains College in Levelland, Texas has signed a National Letter-of-Intent to play for the Eastern New Mexico University men’s basketball team. Clark, who previously played one season at Barton County Community College in Kansas, will be a junior at ENMU during the 2006-07 season.

Clark is from Kansas City, Kansas. He graduated from Blue Valley Northwest High School, where he was named League MVP after averaging 16 points and eight rebounds per game. At South Plains, he averaged 6.4 points and four rebounds per game during the 2005-06 season. SPC finished the year with a 24-7 overall record.

Justin Redman-Trotter Signs National Letter-of-Intent with ENMU Men's Basketball Team
Justin Redman-Trotter, a 6’ 3”, 175-pound guard from Northern Iowa Area Community College in Mason City, Iowa, has signed a National Letter-of-Intent to play for the Eastern New Mexico University men’s basketball team. Redman-Trotter, from Milwaukee, Wisc., was a two-year starter at NIACC and will be a junior at ENMU in 2006-07.

Redman-Trotter can play either point guard or shooting guard. He averaged 16.6 points per game at Northern Iowa Area CC in 2005-06 to rank second in the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference in scoring. He was the ICCAC leader with two steals per game and was fourth in free throw percentage, making 80.4% of his charity shots (160 of 199). Redman-Trotter also placed eighth in the conference with four assists per game. He was named First Team All-Region XI in Division II of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).

Dwight Collins Signs National Letter-of-Intent to Play for ENMU Men's Basketball Team
Dwight Collins, a 6’4” guard from South Plains College in Levelland, Texas, has signed a National Letter-of-Intent to play for the Eastern New Mexico University men’s basketball team. Collins played one year at South Plains and helped the team earn a third place finish in the Western Junior College Athletic Conference (WJCAC) with a 10-4 record in 2005-06. SPC was 23-7 overall. Collins will be a junior at ENMU in 2006-07.

Collins averaged 6.6 points per game and shot 43% from behind the three-point line at SPC. Before attending South Plains, he played one year at Casper College in Wyoming, where he averaged 14 points per game as a freshman.

Eastern New Mexico University junior guard Tristan Largent (5’11”, 185 lbs., Martinsburg, WV/Garrett College) has been named First Team All-Lone Star Conference South Division for 2005-06, the LSC Office announced today. Junior forward Mikal Monette (6’6”, 215 lbs., Albuquerque, NM/University of New Mexico) was chosen Second Team All-LSC South and Joshua Jackson (Fr., G, 6’0”, 187 lbs., Madison, WI/Madison West HS) was selected LSC South Freshman of the Year.

Largent was one of just six players selected to the First Team, with Monette joining four other players on the Second Team and a total of six players earning Honorable Mention. The LSC South head coaches voted for the All-LSC South Team. [more]

Greyhounds to Play Southeastern Oklahoma in LSC Tournament Quarterfinals on Feb. 28

The Eastern New Mexico University men's basketball team opens the Lone Star Conference Tournament on Tuesday, Feb. 28, at Southeastern Oklahoma State University. Game time is set for 6 p.m. MST. The game will be broadcast live on KSEL radio at 95.3 FM and on the Internet through Free Teamline. The Greyhounds enter the LSC Tournament with three wins in their last four games to improve to 12-15 overall and to 6-6 in the LSC South. Southeastern Oklahoma is 17-9 overall and 9-3 in the LSC North.

ENMU defeated the Savage Storm, 83-65, on Jan. 14 at Greyhound Arena. The Hounds will have to play the rematch without junior forward Mikal Monette (Albuquerque, NM/University of New Mexico), who is out with a knee injury.

Eastern New Mexico University freshman guard Joshua Jackson (Madison, WI/Madison West HS) hit a jump shot just inside the 3-point line as the clock expired in regulation, then scored the game-winning shot on a baseline jumper with 1.4 seconds left in overtime, as the Greyhounds defeated Midwestern State University, 84-82, in Wichita Falls, Texas, on Saturday, Feb. 25. Jackson's last-second winner sent the Greyhounds into the LSC Tournament as the fourth place team in the LSC South at 12-15 overall, 6-6 in the LSC South. MSU fell to 16-11, 5-7 in the LSC South.

ENMU will open the LSC Tournament at Southeastern Oklahoma State University on Tuesday, Feb. 28 at 6 p.m. MST (7 p.m. Central). If the Greyhounds win on Tuesday, they will advance to the LSC Semifinals on Friday, Mar. 3, at a site to be determined. The LSC Championship game, which provides the winner with an automatic bid into the NCAA Division II Tournament, will be held on Saturday, Mar. 4 at the same site as the semifinals. [more]

Jackson Hits Four Free Throws in Final 20 Seconds to Clinch Win over Abilene Christian, 70-64
ENMU's Freshman Guard Scores Career-High 19 Points
Eastern New Mexico University received a career-high 19 points from freshman guard Joshua Jackson (Madison, WI/Madison West HS), including four free throws in the final 20 seconds, as the Greyhounds rallied from a 14-point deficit early in the second half to defeat Abilene Christian University, 70-64, on Saturday, Feb. 18. The Lone Star Conference win improved the Greyhounds to 11-14 overall, as ENMU remained in fourth place in the LSC South at 5-5. ACU dropped to 8-18 and was eliminated from the LSC Tournament race at 3-8 in the LSC South. ENMU also improved its record at Greyhound Arena to 8-3 this season.

Eastern took its first lead at 52-51 with 7:09 left. Four lead changes and three ties occurred before ENMU gained the lead for good, 64-62, on a jumper by Tristan Largent (Jr., G, Martinsburg, WV/Garrett College) with 48 seconds remaining. Jackson went 4 for 4 at the line the rest of the way and Ira Cross (Jr., F, Munford, AL/Gadsden State CC) tacked on two free throws with two seconds left, as the Hounds ended the game with an 8-2 run.

The Greyhounds will clinch the fourth and final LSC Tournament berth from the South Division if West Texas A&M University defeats Midwestern State University (15-10, 4-6 LSC South) on Wednesday, Feb. 22. Junior forward Donald Young (Mobile, AL/Southern Union State CC) scored 17 points to lead five Eastern New Mexico University players in double figures, as the Greyhounds led from start to finish in a 97-80 victory over Angelo State University, Feb. 15 at Greyhound Arena. The Lone Star Conference triumph moved ENMU to 10-14 overall, 4-5 in the LSC South. Angelo State fell to 8-17 on the season, including 0-10 in the LSC South.

Eastern moved one-half game ahead of Midwestern State University, 4-6, in the battle for the fourth and final LSC Tournament berth from the South Division. MSU lost at Texas A&M-Kingsville, 66-51, on Feb. 15. [more]

Eastern New Mexico University rallied from a five-point deficit in the final four minutes, as the Greyhounds upended Texas A&M University-Kingsville, 63-60, in a Lone Star Conference game on Thursday, Feb. 2, at Greyhound Arena. Mikal Monette (Jr., F, Albuquerque, NM/University of New Mexico) gave ENMU the lead for the final time, 61-60, on a free throw with 30 seconds left. Freshman guard Joshua Jackson (Madison, WI/Madison West HS) clinched the win by grabbing a defensive rebound with five seconds on the clock, then hitting two free throws with 1.3 seconds remaining.

The LSC South victory improved the Greyhounds to 9-12 on the season and to 3-3 in the conference. TAMU-Kingsville fell to 13-7 overall, 3-2 in the LSC South. [more]

Monette and Largent Record 20 Points apiece for Eastern
West Texas A&M University shot 62.1% and built a 43-27 lead in the first half, then matched nearly every basket by Eastern New Mexico University in the second half, as the Buffaloes defeated the Greyhounds, 93-81, at the First Union Bank Center on Monday, Jan. 30. WTAMU received 23 points apiece from Damien Lolar and Patrick Culver to improve to 15-5, 4-1 in the LSC South. Eastern was led by Mikal Monette (Jr., F, Albuquerque, NM/University of New Mexico) and by Tristan Largent (Jr., G, Martinsburg, WV/ Garrett College, each with 20 points. The Hounds fell to 8-12, 2-3 in the LSC South.

The Buffs surged out to a 15-6 lead in the first six minutes. Eastern pulled within 17-14 at the 12:01 mark on a layup by Largent, but WTAMU tallied the next eight points for a 25-14 lead. ENMU reduced the margin to nine-points, 32-23, with 4:11 left in the half, before the Buffs closed the period with a 11-4 run. [more]

Tristan Largent (Jr., G, Martinsburg, WV/Garrett College) scored a career-high 22 points and the Greyhounds hit 24 of 27 free throws, as Eastern New Mexico University defeated Midwestern State University, Jan. 28 at Greyhound Arena. Mikal Monette (Jr., F, Albuquerque, NM/University of New Mexico) add 14 points and a career-high 14 rebounds for the Hounds, as ENMU recorded its fourth win in the last six games. LaKeith Grant led MSU with a game-high 24 points to go with eight rebounds.

The Lone Star Conference victory improved the Greyhounds to 8-11 overall, 2-2 in the LSC South. MSU fell to 11-9 overall, including 0-5 in the LSC South.

Midwestern State, which recently changed its nickname from Indians to Mustangs, led 35-33 at halftime and 64-62 with 5:42 remaining. The Greyhounds scored the next 10 points to start a 17-8 run to end the contest. [more]

Tarleton State University, ranked third in the NCAA Division II South Central Region, hit eight of 12 free throws in the final 1:26 and earned three individual rebounds and one deadball rebound on the four missed shots, as the Texans held off a strong effort from Eastern New Mexico University, 75-69, in a Lone Star Conference game on Wednesday, Jan. 25. Tarleton State moved to 15-4 on the season, including 4-0 in the LSC South. ENMU fell to 7-11, 1-2 in the LSC South.

Derek Atwood gave the Texans a 65-60 lead by hitting the first of two free throws at the 1:26 mark. He missed the second shot, which was rebounded by John Davis. Several seconds later, Norbey Aragon sank a 3-pointer, assisted by LaShon Sheffield, giving TSU a 68-60 advantage with 1:20 to go.

Eastern hit three 3-pointers in the final minute, as the Hounds pulled within five points twice. Stephen Wilson (Jr., G, Heflin, AL/Gadsden State CC) cut the deficit to 71-66 with 34 seconds left and Joshua Jackson (Fr., G, Madison, WI/Madison West HS) made the score 74-69 with 13 seconds on the clock. Greyhounds Fall Behind by 18 Points at Start of 82-73 Loss to Abilene Christian

Wildcats Sink Seven 3-Pointers in Opening 8:27
Abilene Christian University sank seven three-pointers in the first 8:27 of play, as the Wildcats jumped out to a 29-11 lead on their way to an 82-73 victory over Eastern New Mexico University, in a Lone Star Conference game on Saturday, Jan. 21, at Moody Coliseum. Eastern cut the margin to six points at halftime, but never got closer than five in the second half, as ACU improved to 8-1, 3-1 in the LSC South. Eastern, which entered the contest on a three-game winning streak, fell to 7-10, 1-1 in the LSC South.

Demarcquez Rembert of ACU led all players with 33 points. He connected on a trio of three-pointers during the Wildcats’ early run, had 13 points at halftime and scored 20 points in the second half. As the sole senior on the Eastern New Mexico University men’s basketball team, Jolen Montoya (Sr., G, Cordova, NM/Neosho County CC) provided composure at the free throw line to help ensure a 74-64 road win over Angelo State University on Thursday, Jan. 19 at the Junell Center/Stephens Arena. The Greyhounds, who were playing their Lone Star Conference South Division opener, improved to 7-9 overall with their third victory in a row. The Rams remained winless in the LSC South at 0-3 and dropped to 8-10 overall.

In a turnover-prone first half, ENMU found itself facing a 14-point deficit with 1:32 left. The Greyhounds were able to take momentum into the locker room with a 6-1 run to cut the deficit to single digits. Tristan Largent (Jr., G, Martinsburg, WV/Garrett College) provided most of the offensive outburst by scoring five of the six points, including a three-pointer for a 37-28 halftime score. Jolen Montoya (Sr., G, Cordova, NM/ Neosho County CC) was 4 of 8 from 3-point range and scored 18 points to lead four Greyhounds in double figures. ENMU moved to 6-9 with the LSC crossover victory, while the Savages dropped to 8-6.

ENMU received at least one three-pointer from five players, including four by Montoya, three each by Tristan Largent (Jr., G, Martinsburg, WV/Garrett College) and Stephen Wilson (Jr., G, Heflin, AL/Gadsden State CC), two by Travis Carr (Jr., G, Colorado Springs, CO/Otero JC) and one by Joshua Jackson (Fr., G, Madison, WI/Madison West HS). Junior forward Michael Monette (Albuquerque, NM/University of New Mexico) scored 24 points and junior guard Tristan Largent (Martinsburg, WV/Garrett College) provided 18 points, as Eastern New Mexico University routed East Central University, 98-51, in a Lone Star Conference crossover game, Thursday, Jan. 12 at Greyhound Arena. The Greyhounds improved to 5-9 on the season and ended a five-game losing streak. ECU dropped to 10-4.

ENMU held a 56-31 lead at halftime, and finished the game with 56.7% shooting from the field (34 of 60), including 10 of 15 on three-pointers. The Greyhounds converted 20 of 24 free throws (83.3%) and committed just seven turnovers. [more]

Eastern New Mexico University could not take advantage of perfect 9-for-9 shooting from the field by Mikal Monette (Jr., F, Albuquerque, NM/University of New Mexico) plus the Greyhounds’ season-high 53.2% on field goal accuracy, as ENMU lost 88-69 to defensive-minded University of Central Oklahoma, in a Lone Star Conference crossover game on Saturday, Jan. 7. The Hounds outrebounded the Bronchos, 34-30, but were unable to overcome a season-high 26 turnovers, as Eastern dropped to 4-9. The Bronchos improved to 7-6 overall and remained undefeated at home with a 5-0 record.

ENMU never led in the game after falling behind two seconds into the contest on a 3-pointer by Aundrae Grayson. Although the Greyhounds converted 50% of their shots in the first half, Eastern committed 17 turnovers during the stanza, which limited the Hounds to only 20 field goal attempts. [more]

Redmen Shoot 50.9% in 65-54 Win over ENMU

The Redmen of Northeastern State University shot 50.9% from the field (27 of 53) and achieved a 33-21 rebounding margin, as NSU defeated Eastern New Mexico University, 65-54, in a Lone Star Conference crossover game at Dobbins Field House, on Thursday, Jan. 5. Northeastern State moved to 9-3 overall, while ENMU dropped to 4-8.

Mikal Monette (Jr., F, Albuquerque, NM/University of New Mexico) added 10 points and grabbed a team-high five rebounds. Eastern New Mexico University squandered a seven-point lead in the final three minutes, as Oklahoma Panhandle State University claimed a 62-59 win over the Greyhounds, in a non-conference game on Friday, Dec. 30. The Greyhounds fell to 4-7, while the Aggies won for the first time this season to improve to 1-10 overall. Mikal Monette (Jr., F, Albuquerque, NM/University of New Mexico) led the Greyhounds with his first double-double of the season, as he scored 13 points and recorded 10 rebounds.

Eastern’s season-long shooting woes were quite apparent in the first half, as the Hounds connected on 26.7% of their shots from the field (8-30). The Hounds also were outrebounded, 21-14, in the first 20 minutes of play, as the Aggies went into the locker room with a 28-25 lead. Monette averaged 16.5 points and 8.5 rebounds per game, while connecting on 68.2% of his field goal attempts, as Eastern battled two of the strongest teams in the South Central Region of NCAA Division II. Drury Pulls Away from Eastern in Final 8:29 for 81-63 Victory at High Desert Classic
ENMU Shoots 61.5% in First Half for 38-35 Lead
Eastern New Mexico University shot 61.5% in the first half (16 of 26), but the Greyhounds connected on just 37.0% of their attempts in the second half and Drury University hit 63.6% from the floor (14 of 22) over the final 20 minutes, as the Panthers defeated ENMU, 81-63, on Saturday, Dec. 17, at the High Desert Classic. The game was tied, 58-58, with 8:46 left, but Drury outscored the Greyhounds 23-5 the rest of the way. ENMU fell to 4-6 with the loss, while the Panthers upped their record to 7-2.

ENMU trailed 60-58 with 8:29 remaining, after Brandon Kimbrough converted two free throws to break the tie. Kimbrough’s charity shots began a string of 15 unanswered points for the Panthers, who owned a 73-58 advantage at the 2:50 mark.

Eastern’s Joshua Jackson (Fr., G, Madison, WI/Madison West HS), who made his first start, ended the scoreless streak on a layup with 2:43 left, but ENMU scored only three more points. In a game that featured scoring runs by both teams, the Central Missouri State University Mules had the final run, outscoring Eastern New Mexico University 7-2 in the final 1:38, as CMSU defeated ENMU, 75-67, in the opening game of the High Desert Classic, Friday, Dec. 16 in Las Vegas, Nev. CMSU, ranked 14th in NCAA Division II, improved to 9-1 on the season. ENMU dropped to 4-5.

ENMU received 18 points from Tristan Largent (Jr., G, Martinsburg, WV/Garrett College) and 10 points each from Mikal Monette (Jr., F, Albuquerque, NM/University of New Mexico) and Joshua Jackson (Fr., G, Madison, WI/Madison West HS). Monette also hauled down a team-high eight rebounds. [more]

Junior forward Mikal Monette (Albuquerque, NM/University of New Mexico) scored 18 points and hit all six of his shots from the floor, as he led Eastern New Mexico University to a 69-53 victory over visiting Oklahoma Panhandle State University, Saturday, Dec. 10 at Greyhound Arena. ENMU evened its overall record at 4-4, while OPSU remained winless at 0-9.

Monette was joined in double figures by three others Greyhounds, including junior forward Ira Cross (Munford, AL/Gadsden State CC), who recorded a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Tristan Largent (Jr., G, Martinsburg, WV/Garrett College) hit the nets for 11 points to go with four regounds and two assists. Texas A&M-Commerce Rallies in Closing Minutes for 71-69 Victory over Greyhounds
Wilson Leads ENMU with 15 Points, 11 Rebounds
Senior guard Jermart Miller scored 12 of his game-high 26 points in the final 3:36, leading Texas A&M University-Commerce from a six-point deficit into a 71-69 victory over Eastern New Mexico University, in a Lone Star Conference game at Greyhound Arena on Thursday, Dec. 8. Commerce, the defending LSC champion, improved to 8-1 on the season. ENMU fell to 3-4 overall. Crossover games do not count in the LSC divisional standings.

Eastern held a 63-57 advantage prior to Miller’s late-game heroics. It was Miller who pulled off a similar feat at ENMU last year, when he scored 17 points in 2:40 late in the game, as the Lions rallied from an 82-71 deficit for a 97-90 win. The Greyhounds remained competitive in this year’s rematch despite shooting just 36.4% from the field (28 of 77) and hitting only 6 of 15 free throws. ENMU offset its shooting woes by achieving a 50-35 rebounding edge, with 27 offensive rebounds.[more]

ENMU Scores First Field Goal with 1:46 Left in First Half
The Eastern New Mexico University Greyhounds spent nearly the entire first half without a field goal on Saturday, Dec. 3, as Cameron University built a 27-12 lead. The Greyhounds rallied within as few as 10 points in the second half, but Eastern couldn’t overcome its first-half struggles in a 58-42 loss to the Aggies. Cameron improved to 3-2 on the season, while ENMU fell to 3-3.

ENMU Falls Behind by 14 Points in First Half, Loses to Southwestern Oklahoma, 61-43

Eastern New Mexico University shot just 31.8% in the first half, as the Greyhounds fell behind 32-18, on their way to a 61-43 loss at Southwestern Oklahoma State University, in a Lone Star Conference crossover game on Thursday, Dec. 1. ENMU fell to 3-2 overall, while Southwestern Oklahoma, 1-6, won for the first time this season. Eastern's top scorer was Joshua Jackson (Fr., G, Madison, WI/Madison West HS) with 11 points.

The Greyhounds were successful on only 7 of 22 shots in the first half, while the Bulldogs hit 12 of 23 first-half attempts (52.2%). Southwestern Oklahoma remained hot in the second half, converting 12 of 20 field goals, to finish the game 24 of 43 (55.8%). ENMU was 9 of 23 in the second half (39.1%), as the Greyhounds made just 16 of 45 shots for the night (35.6%). [more]

Junior guard Travis Carr (Colorado Springs, CO/Otero JC) scored 18 points and connected on four three-pointers to lead Eastern New Mexico University to a 69-57 win over Adams State College in the home opener for ENMU, Saturday, Nov. 26, at Greyhound Arena. The Greyhounds improved to 3-1 on the season, while Adams State fell to 1-1.

Carr sank 5 of 6 field goals, including 4 of 5 from 3-point range. He also converted 4 of 4 free throws, as he recorded his first double-digit night since transferring to ENMU from Otero Junior College this season. He also contributed three rebounds and a game-high three steals. [more]

Two Newcomers Lead ENMU to 72-65 Victory over Illinois Institute of Technology
Junior forward Ira Cross (Munford, AL/Gadsden State CC) and freshman guard Joshua Jackson (Madison, WI/Madison West HS) each contributed 15 points to lead Eastern New Mexico University to a 72-65 victory over Illinois Institute of Technology in the third place game of the Westlink Communications Classic at Fort Hays State University on Saturday, Nov. 19. The Greyhounds went on a 16-0 run midway through the second half to secure the win.

Cross and Jackson both joined ENMU this season, with Cross transferring from Gadsden State Community College in Alabama and Jackson arriving from Madison West High School in Wisconsin. With the win over Illinois Tech, the Greyhounds improved their record to 2-1. The Scarlet Hawks dropped to 1-3 on the season. [more]

Greyhounds Fall to Washburn in Overtime
ENMU will take on Illinois Tech in Second Round of Westlink Communications Classic at Fort Hays State on Saturday
Washburn University defeated Eastern New Mexico University, 90-85 in overtime, in the opening round of the Westlink Communications Classic on Friday, Nov, 18 at Fort Hays State University. Washburn tied the game on a free throw with two seconds left in regulation, then outscored the Greyhounds 13-8 in overtime. The Ichabods, playing their season opener, started the year 1-0, while ENMU fell to 1-1.

In the other first round game, host Fort Hays State defeated Illinois Institute of Technology, 86-47. ENMU will play Illinois Tech in the third place game on Saturday, Nov. 19, at 2 p.m. MST. [more]

Wilson Leads ENMU to 62-56 Win over Lubbock Christian
Junior Transfer Scores 14 Points, Grabs Six Rebounds
Junior guard Stephen Wilson (Heflin, AL/Gadsden State CC) scored 14 points and grabbed six rebounds, leading Eastern New Mexico University to a 62-56 win over Lubbock Christian University, in the season opener for both teams, Nov. 15 at the Rip Griffin Center. ENMU, which led 32-26 at halftime but trailed by six points, 49-43, with 7:28 remaining, closed the game with a 19-7 run.

Wilson provided four assists and three steals in addition to leading the Hounds in scoring and rebounding. During Eastern’s decisive run, he scored a basket with 3:15 remaining for a 53-50 lead, then hit 4 of 6 free throws in the final 1:35. [more]

Participate in NABC Reading Program

Greyhounds will be at James Elementary on Oct. 31
Players and coaches from the Eastern New Mexico University men’s basketball team will be visiting James Elementary School in Portales, N.M., on Monday, Oct. 31, to participate in the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Reading Program. The NABC Reading Program is an annual national literacy program to promote the importance of reading and education to elementary school children.[more]

Ira Cross Signs National Letter-of-Intent to Play for ENMU Men's Basketball Team

Ira Cross, a 6’5” 215-pound forward who played the past two seasons at Gadsden State Community College in Gadsden, Ala., has signed a National Letter-of-Intent to play for the Eastern New Mexico University men’s basketball team. Cross, from Munford, Ala., will be a junior during the 2005-06 season.

Cross averaged 8.9 points and 5.7 rebounds per game at Gadsden State during the 2004-05 season. The Cardinals advanced to the Alabama Community College Conference championship game before falling to Shelton State Community College, 92 83. GSCC finished the season with a 21-13 overall record, including 8-5 in the ACCC North Division. Cross was named to the ACCC All-Tournament Team. [more]

Jake Holladay Signs National Letter-of-Intent with ENMU Men's Basketball Team
Jake Holladay, a 6’6” 190-pound forward from Gilmer High School in Gilmer, Texas, has signed a National Letter-of-Intent to play for the Eastern New Mexico University men’s basketball team. Holladay will be a freshman during the 2005-06 season.

Holladay averaged 24.6 points and 11.0 rebounds for Gilmer HS this past season. He helped GHS earn a 14-4 overall record. Holladay was chosen District MVP, as he led Gilmer to the District championship and a berth in the Regional quarterfinals. He was named to the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches (TABC) All-State Team and was an All-Region selection. He was chosen First Team All-East Texas by the Longview and Tyler newspapers. He played in two all-star games and earned MVP honors once. [more]

Larry Prince Signs National Letter-of-Intent with ENMU Men's Basketball Team
Larry Prince, a 6’6” 190-pound forward from Wallace State-Hanceville Community College in Hanceville, Ala., has signed a National Letter-of-Intent to play for the Eastern New Mexico University men’s basketball team. Prince, who has played two seasons at Wallace State-Hanceville CC, will be a junior during the 2005-06 season.

Prince, from Haynesville, Ga., averaged 10.9 points and 8.8 rebounds per game at WS-HCC during the 2004-05 season. The Lions advanced to the Alabama Community College Conference quarterfinals before falling to Faulkner State College, 74-72. Prince ended the season ranked sixth in the ACCC in rebounding. [more]

Donald Young Signs National Letter-of-Intent with ENMU Men's Basketball Team
Donald Young, a 6’5” 210-pound forward from Southern Union State Community College in Wadley, Ala., has signed a National Letter-of-Intent to play for the
Eastern New Mexico University men’s basketball team. Young, who has played two seasons at Southern Union, will be a junior during the 2005-06 season.

Young, from Mobile, Ala., averaged 8.6 points and 4.6 rebounds per game for Southern Union during the 2004-05 season. He helped the team conclude the year with the a 13-9 overall record and a second place finish in the Alabama Community College Conference. [more]

Hunnicutt is Chosen Second Team All-Region for Second Consecutive Season
Senior forward Averaged 18.4 Points and 8.3 Rebounds per game
Eastern New Mexico University senior forward Jamaal Hunnicutt (6’5”, 225 lbs., Amarillo, TX/Randall HS/Hill JC) has been named Second Team All South Central Region for the second year in a row, as selected by members of the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC). The All-Region Team honored five players on the First Team and five players on the Second Team. [more]

LSC South Champions in 2002-03 and 2003-04
ENMU had a memorable and exciting 2002-03 season. The Greyhounds finished with 20 wins, were the LSC-South Champions and advanced to the semifinals of the Lone Star Conference Tournament.

Eastern's success on the court continued into the 2003-04 season. The Greyhounds won the LSC South championship, giving ENMU back-to-back championships for the first time in school history.

ENMU also won 20 games for the second consecutive year and advanced to the NCAA field of 64 teams. It was the second NCAA Division II Tournament berth in school history and the first since 1993.

ENMU's overall record under Head Coach Shawn Scanlan is 68-69, including 64-47 the past four seasons.
