ENMU Signs 10 Women's Soccer Players to National Letters-of-Intent
Eastern New Mexico University head women’s soccer coach Travis McCorkle has announced the signing of 10 student-athletes to National Letters-of-Intent. Nine of the recruits will be freshmen and one recruit will be a junior during the Fall 2006 semester. ENMU Men’s and Women’s Soccer Teams Honored by NSCAA for Academic Success
The Eastern New Mexico University men’s and women’s soccer teams have received Team Academic Awards from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) for the 2004-05 academic year. ENMU and other colleges and universities were honored for earning team grade point averages of 3.0 or higher during the academic year.[more]

Bregler Named to the 2005 LSC South All-Academic Team

Sophomore midfielder Nicole Bregler (Alamogordo, NM/ Alamogordo HS) became the second Zia to receive Lone Star Conference All-Academic honors in the program’s three-year history, as she earned a spot on the 2005 LSC South All-Academic Team. Five of her teammates were named to the LSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll, including senior forward Karly Parkans (Peoria, AZ/Paradise Valley CC), junior defender Pamela Campbell (Sierra Vista, AZ/Cochise College), sophomore defender Katharine Coulombe (Sammamish, WA/Eastlake HS), sophomore forward Kara Henderson (Rio Rancho, NM/Rio Rancho HS) and sophomore goalkeeper Stephanie Sanchez (Belen, NM/Belen HS).[more]

ENMU’s Dozier Named First Team All-LSC, Funck Receives Honorable Mention

Two players who have been with the Eastern New Mexico University women’s soccer team since the program’s first year were named to the All-Lone Star Conference Team for 2005. Megan Dozier (Jr., F, Midland, TX/Midland HS) was selected First Team All-LSC and Anna Funck (Jr., MF, Amarillo, TX/Amarillo HS) was chosen Honorable Mention All-LSC.[more]

Eastern New Mexico University soccer player Pamela Campbell (Jr., D, Sierra Vista, AZ/Cochise CC) has been named Second Team ESPN The Magazine College Division Academic All-District 6. Voting was by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).[more]

ENMU Will Not Advance to the LSC Tourney After 2-1 Loss at Texas Woman’s

Eastern New Mexico University came into its game on Sunday, Oct. 30 one point ahead of its opponent, Texas Woman’s University, in the race for the Lone Star Conference Tournament. The 2-1 loss kept the Zias out of the tournament as they finished their season with a school-best 10-8-1 overall record and a 3-5-1 record in the LSC. The Pioneers, in their fourth year of competition in women’s soccer, will advance to the tournament with a 9-8-1 overall record and 4-5-0 conference record, finishing one point ahead of ENMU.[more]

ENMU Remains in the Running For The LSC Tourney After 4-0 Loss to TAMU-Commerce

Needing only a tie to get a first ever berth to the Lone Star Conference Tournament, Eastern New Mexico University was shutout, 4-0, at Texas A&M University-Commerce on Friday, Oct. 28. The Zias dropped their LSC record to 3-4-1 and their overall record to 10-7-1. The Lions improved to 4-2-2 in the LSC and 10-5-2 overall to secure a spot in the LSC Tournament.[more]

ENMU Remains in the Hunt for LSC Tourney With A 0-0 Tie Against SW Oklahoma

With a berth to the Lone Star Conference Tournament at stake, Eastern New Mexico University managed a 0-0 double-overtime tie against Southwestern Oklahoma State University on Sunday, Oct. 23 at the ENMU Soccer Field. The Zias began the day tied for fourth in the LSC standings and improved their record to 10-6-1 overall, 3-3-1 in conference play. The Bulldogs remained in the hunt for post-season play, improving their overall record to 7-8-1 and 2-4-1 in the LSC.[more]

ENMU Loses, 1-0, In A Well-Played LSC Match Against Central Oklahoma

Eastern New Mexico University was able to keep the University of Central Oklahoma scoreless until the 77:33 mark in a 1-0 Lone Star Conference loss on Friday, Oct. 21 at the ENMU Soccer Field. The Zias dropped to a 10-6 overall record and 3-3 in the LSC. The Bronchos remain undefeated in the LSC with a 5-0-1 record and an 11-3-1 overall record.[more]

ENMU Loses in Final Minutes, 1-0, To Northeastern

Eastern New Mexico University was able to keep Northeastern State University scoreless for almost 87 minutes before giving up the only goal of the game in a 1-0 loss on Sunday, Oct. 16 in a Lone Star Conference match. The Zias dropped their overall record to 10-5 and 3-2 in the LSC. The Lady Reds improved to 6-8-1 overall and a 2-4-1 LSC record.[more]

The solid play of goalies Stephanie Sanchez (So., Belen, NM/Belen HS) and Amy Holtman (So., Albuquerque, NM/Hope Christian School) led Eastern New Mexico University to a 4-0 shutout victory over East Central University on Friday, Oct. 14 in a Lone Star Conference game. The Zias improved to a school-best 10-4 overall record and a 3-1 record in the LSC. The Lady Tigers dropped to 2-11 overall and remain winless in the LSC with an 0-5 record.[more]

Eastern Improves to 9-4 Overall, 2-1 in the LSC
Jessica Rosas (Sr., F, Escondido, CA/Cochise CC) scored the only goal of the game in overtime, as Eastern New Mexico University defeated Midwestern State University, 1-0, on Sunday, Oct. 9 in a Lone Star Conference matchup. The Zias improved to 2-1 in the LSC and to 9-4 overall, equalling last year’s victory total. The Lady Indians dropped to 2-2 in the LSC, 4-6-1 on the season.[more]

Eastern Rallies for 2-1 Victory over Angelo State
Dozier Nets Goal, Adds an Assist; Rosa Scores Winner at 88:20
Eastern's Jessica Rosas (Sr., F, Escondido, CA/Cochise CC) provided the winning goal at 88:20, on an assist from Megan Dozier (Jr., F, Midland, TX/Midland HS), as Eastern New Mexico University defeated Angelo State University, 2-1, on Friday, Oct. 7, in a Lone Star Conference game at the ENMU Soccer Field. The Zias improved to 8-4, the best start in the three-year history of the program, while improving to 1-1 in the LSC. The Rambelles fell 5-7-1 overall and to 2-2 in the LSC South.

After a very physical first 45 minutes of play, the score was knotted up at 0-0. Eastern was called for 11 fouls and ASU was whistled for five fouls during the first half. Less than two minutes into the second half, at 46:12, the Rambelles took a 1-0 lead on a goal by Rebecca Akingbolagun, who hit a shot from 12 yards after receiving a pass from Marianne Glutz. [more]

ENMU Allows Only 3 Shots in 3-0 Victory Over the College of the SW
PORTALES, N.M. - In a 3-0 shutout victory, Eastern New Mexico University limited the College of the Southwest to only one shot on goal on Sunday, Oct. 2 at the ENMU Soccer Field. With their fourth victory in the past five games, the Zias improved their record to 7-4 overall. The Mustangs, who compete in the NAIA’s Red River Athletic Conference, dropped to 4-7 this season.[more]

ENMU Shuts Out UT-Permian Basin, 3-0

Eastern New Mexico University’s Stephanie Sanchez (So., GK, Belen, NM/Belen HS) and Amy Holtman (So., GK, Albuquerque, NM/Hope Christian School) combined for a shutout in goal, as ENMU defeated the University of Texas-Permian Basin, 3-0, in a non-conference women’s soccer game on Friday, Sept. 30, at the ENMU Soccer Field. Sanchez and Holtman each played 45 mintues for the Zias, who improved their season record to 6-4. The Falcons dropped to 3-6 this season.

Valerie Noreiga (Sr., M, El Paso, TX/Cochise CC) gave Eastern a 1-0 lead at the 38:56 mark, taking a pass from Anna Funck (Jr., M, Amarillo, TX/Amarillo HS) and putting the ball into the net from 25 yards out. ENMU’s defense was solid, holding UTPB to only two shots, none on goal, in the first 45 minutes of play. Eastern remained in front 1-0 lead at halftime. [more]

ENMU Edges St. Gregory's 2-1 in Overtime
Henderson Nets Winning Goal in 103rd Minute
ENMU's Kara Henderson (So., D, Rio Rancho, NM/Rio Rancho HS) scored from just outside the penalty area in the 103rd minute, sending the Eastern women's soccer team to a 2-1, double-overtime victory over St. Gregory’s University on Saturday, Sept. 17. ENMU improved to 5-3 on the season. St. Gregory’s fell to 0-4.

The winning goal was set up by Valerie Noriega (Sr., M, El Paso, TX/Cochise CC), who
moved past a defender after the Zias won the ball in the midfield. She sent a pass through the defense to Henderson, who placed the ball in the side netting at the far post. [more]

ENMU Soccer Field

The ENMU Soccer Field opened during the 2004 season, with the Greyhounds and Zias calling the new facility home. ENMU Soccer Field features a well-maintained grass surface, with plenty of space for team benches, a scoring table, concession stand and bleachers. Parking for players and fans is available nearby.


ENMU Soccer Field is surrounded by a chain-link fence and is conveniently located next to the ENMU Track and within view of Greyhound Arena.
